The England men’s team is scheduled to begin their Ashes campaign against Australia at Trent Bridge on 18 June. This series aims to regain the Ashes from Australia, with the women’s series commencing six days later.
The second men’s Test is set for Lord’s starting 30 June, followed by the third Test at Edgbaston on 8 July. The Utilita Bowl in Southampton will become the tenth UK ground to host a men’s Ashes Test when the fourth Test begins on 21 July. The men’s series will conclude at the Kia Oval from 29 July.
The multi-format Women’s Ashes is scheduled from 24 June to 20 July, running concurrently with the men’s series, similar to the 2023 schedule. The men’s series will not feature any Tests in the north of England, as Emirates Old Trafford and Headingley were not selected for hosting matches.
Men’s and Women’s Ashes Fixtures
England, who previously lost to Australia, will prepare for the Ashes by playing Bangladesh in a one-off Test at Lord’s, starting on 28 May. Australia will have a warm-up game against England Lions at Old Trafford from 7-10 June. This fixture is part of a new reciprocal agreement between the countries to arrange a “high-quality opposition at an international venue.” This warm-up match will be reviewed if Australia reaches the World Test Championship final.
The England women’s team, who lost to Australia in 2025, will seek their first Ashes Test victory since 2014 when their series begins with a four-day game at Headingley on 24 June. The women’s teams will also compete in three T20s starting on 3 July at Trent Bridge, The Oval, and Old Trafford. Additionally, three one-day internationals are planned, beginning on 13 July, at Southampton, Lord’s, and Edgbaston.
In the multi-format women’s series, a victory in the Test match is valued at four points, while each win in a white-ball game contributes two points. The England and Wales Cricket Board announced that an England men’s mixed disability team will also play Australia, with specific dates and venues yet to be confirmed.
Other International Engagements
The England men’s summer schedule in 2027 will commence with a five-match ODI series against Pakistan in May. This will be followed by three T20s and five ODIs against New Zealand in September, serving as preparation for the 50-over World Cup in October.
The ICC World Test Championship final is scheduled to take place at The Oval from 9 June. This marks the second time The Oval will host this final, which was previously held there in 2023. The England women’s team will host Bangladesh in a three-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series in September.
Australia’s schedule includes hosting Bangladesh for two Tests in August, touring South Africa for three Tests in October, hosting New Zealand for four Tests at the turn of the year, competing in five Tests in India in January and February, and staging a one-off Test against England in March to commemorate 150 years of Test cricket.
