The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory outlining the dress code norms for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, 2026. This initiative aims to ensure a fair and secure examination process.
According to the NTA, candidates are encouraged to wear light clothing on the day of the examination. “Candidates are encouraged to wear light clothing to facilitate proper frisking,” stated an NTA official. Full sleeves and woollen garments are allowed if necessary, but candidates must report early for security checks.
Key dress code guidelines include:
- Candidates should avoid heavy, layered, or thick fabric clothing.
- Footwear guidelines specify that slippers and low-heeled sandals are preferred.
- Metal items like buttons, zips, chains, or accessories are not allowed.
- Hoodies, jackets, or full-sleeve T-shirts are also prohibited.
On exam day, candidates can carry transparent water bottles into the examination hall. Additionally, articles or objects of faith are permitted but must be reported and inspected at the venue.
The NTA has emphasized that compliance with these guidelines is necessary for maintaining order during the exam. They have urged all candidates to adhere to these instructions and cooperate with the examination staff to ensure a hassle-free examination process.
