The upcoming CUET 2026 exam will take place from May 11 to May 31, accommodating millions of candidates across multiple days. This year’s exam introduces specific shift timings and detailed reporting instructions that candidates must follow.

Previously, many candidates anticipated a more straightforward format for the exam. However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has opted for a more structured approach this time around.

The decisive moment came when the NTA announced two primary slots for the CUET 2026: Slot 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM and Slot 2 from 3:00 PM to 6:45 PM. This change means that candidates will have to plan their day meticulously.

To ensure smooth operations, the NTA has emphasized strict reporting times. Candidates must arrive at their exam centers two hours before the start time, with doors closing just thirty minutes prior to the exam. This is crucial for maintaining order on such a large scale.

For candidates with disabilities (PwD), there’s an added benefit—an additional twenty minutes for every hour of the exam. This adjustment reflects a growing acknowledgment of accessibility in educational assessments.

Candidates are required to bring a printed CUET UG 2026 admit card and a valid ID to gain entry into the examination hall. These documents are essential, and failure to present them could result in disqualification.

Additionally, the exam city slip, admit card, and exam schedule will contain critical information about the CUET 2026 shift timings. It’s advisable for candidates to check their exam centers a day before their test date.

However, there are prohibitions in place—candidates must not carry items like mobile phones or calculators into the exam hall. Such restrictions aim to minimize distractions and maintain integrity during testing.

The logistics behind this massive undertaking are significant; over two lakh personnel have been deployed by the NTA for various exams, including NEET UG 2026 across numerous cities in India and abroad.

As we look ahead, these changes raise questions about how effectively candidates will adapt to this new structure. Will these adjustments lead to a smoother examination process or introduce new challenges?
