The protests had intensified in Phase 2 of Noida as factory workers expressed their frustration over low wages. This unrest follows Haryana’s recent decision to raise its minimum wage from ₹14,000 to ₹19,000, while Uttar Pradesh’s minimum wage remains stagnant at around ₹13,000. The disparity has fueled discontent among workers, leading to escalating demonstrations.

What began as a peaceful protest quickly turned violent, with reports indicating that several vehicles were vandalised and at least one vehicle was set on fire during the unrest. Incidents of stone pelting were also reported, causing damage to property in the area. In response, heavy police forces were deployed to restore order and bring the situation under control.

District Magistrate Medha Rupam addressed the situation, urging all workers to continue their duties peacefully and to avoid believing in rumours or misleading information. She emphasized the administration’s commitment to addressing worker grievances and ensuring their welfare.

In an effort to mitigate the unrest, the district administration announced a series of measures aimed at improving conditions for workers. Factories have been instructed to ensure that every worker receives a weekly day off and to pay double for any overtime worked. Additionally, workers are to receive their annual bonuses before November 30, with the 10th of the month set as the disbursal date for salaries.

To further support workers, a control room has been established, available 24×7, to provide immediate assistance. The administration has also directed all factories to strictly adhere to labour welfare guidelines, including the formation of Internal Complaints Committees in all workplaces to prevent sexual harassment.

As the situation unfolds, officials remain vigilant and are monitoring the response from the workers. The hope is that these measures will alleviate some of the tensions and lead to a more stable environment for both workers and employers in Noida.

Ricky Rai, the son of late underworld figure Muthappa Rai, is currently under police scrutiny following a drifting stunt involving a Lamborghini in Bengaluru. The incident has drawn significant attention, particularly given the family’s notorious background.

In a swift response, police served two notices to Ricky Rai after the Lamborghini was traced back to his residence in RMV Extension. The car, originally registered to a Delhi-based individual, was seized by authorities shortly after the incident.

CCTV footage from the area showed two individuals inside the Lamborghini during the stunt, raising questions about who was behind the wheel. As of now, it remains unclear if Ricky was driving the vehicle at the time.
