In a heartbreaking turn of events, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, a prominent figure in the Bengali film and television industry, died while shooting for a series called “Bhole Baba Paar Karega” off Talsari beach in Digha, Odisha. The incident occurred on the evening of the shoot, during which he was reportedly in knee-deep water when he began to drown.
Banerjee, who was 43 years old, was quickly rescued by crew members who attempted to pull him from the sea. Despite their efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital at 6:10 PM. The distance from Digha to Talsari beach is approximately 8 kilometers, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are currently investigating whether safety protocols were adhered to during the shoot. Details remain unconfirmed, and the exact circumstances surrounding his drowning remain unclear. A post-mortem is scheduled to take place at Contai Sub-divisional Hospital.
