This announcement comes in response to reports suggesting revised timelines for LPG bookings, which the ministry has categorically denied. According to official statements, “The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to function under the current time limit,” ensuring that consumers can rely on the established system.
For households with two LPG cylinders, the booking interval remains at 35 days, while consumers enrolled in the Ujjwala Yojana can book a cylinder after 45 days. Additionally, bookings for the 10 kg composite domestic cylinder will be accepted after 18 days. These timelines are designed to help manage supply effectively while catering to the needs of different consumer segments.
Single-cylinder households in urban areas are permitted to book a refill every 25 days, whereas those in rural areas must wait 45 days between bookings. This differentiation acknowledges the varying consumption patterns and accessibility challenges faced by consumers in different regions.
Moreover, it is important to note that commercial cylinders are primarily supplied for emergency services and educational institutions, further emphasizing the need for clarity in the rules governing domestic LPG bookings.
