“As the TATA IPL continues to scale up in unprecedented ways, our push is to assemble legends and heavyweights of the league together in our studios in a way that will offer a unique insider’s perspective to fans,” said Siddharth Sharma, a key figure at JioStar, as the company made headlines for dismantling a large-scale digital piracy syndicate.

On the very day the TATA IPL 2026 season kicked off, JioStar took decisive action against an unauthorized IPTV service known as BOS IPTV. This operation was found to be offering access to an astonishing 10,000 linear channels and a library of over 25,000 video-on-demand titles, attracting around 64,000 active subscribers.

In a move to protect its content ecosystem, JioStar filed a criminal complaint at the Cyber Police Station in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. An FIR (No. 0005 dated 26 March 2026) was registered under multiple sections of Indian law, reflecting the seriousness of the infringement.

The website bostv.org, which facilitated this unauthorized access, has since been taken down by its operators. This action underscores JioStar’s commitment to ensuring a fair viewing experience for its audience.

As the IPL season unfolds, JioStar is not only focused on combating piracy but also enhancing the viewing experience for fans. The company announced an impressive lineup for the 2026 TATA IPL season, featuring over 150 presenters and experts.

Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the matches in 12 different languages, making the event accessible to a wider audience. Notably, cricket legend Ravichandran Ashwin will make his debut as a commentator in JioStar’s studios during this season.

This year’s IPL is particularly special as it features players from three different generations, showcasing the evolution of the sport and the enduring appeal of cricket in India.

JioStar’s proactive measures against piracy and its innovative approach to broadcasting signal a new era for sports viewing in India, where fans can expect not only quality content but also a commitment to integrity in the digital space.

As the season progresses, fans and stakeholders alike will be watching closely for any further developments in JioStar’s efforts to safeguard its content and enhance the IPL viewing experience.
