“IMPCC plays a pivotal role in facilitating the government communication in a coordinated manner,” stated Smita Vats Sharma, Director General of the West Zone at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a recent workshop held in Nagpur.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Nagpur organized this significant event on March 24, 2026, titled ‘Media and Communication Strategies to Enhance Organizational Outreach.’ The meeting aimed to improve communication within governmental organizations and agencies across the public sector.
More than 40 Central Government institutions participated in the meeting, which took place at the Chitinvis Center in Civil Lines, Nagpur. This gathering reflects a growing recognition of the importance of effective communication strategies in enhancing organizational outreach.
During her address, Sharma emphasized the need for government organizations to actively share updates with the PIB to improve media outreach. This call to action is particularly relevant in an era where timely and accurate information dissemination is crucial.
The PIB has been instrumental in facilitating media visits from other states to showcase Maharashtra’s development projects, further underlining its role in promoting effective communication.
As the workshop unfolded, participants engaged in discussions aimed at refining their communication strategies, with a focus on collaboration and coordination among various governmental entities.
In a related legal context, the Allahabad High Court recently ruled on a matter concerning the transfer of a suit without prior notice under Section 24 of the CPC. The court held that “the absence of prior notice under Section 24, by itself, does not vitiate the order of transfer in the absence of demonstrable prejudice,” as articulated by Dr. Yogendra Kumar Srivastava.
This ruling highlights the importance of procedural clarity and the need for effective communication in legal proceedings, paralleling the themes discussed in the workshop.
As the PIB continues to enhance its outreach efforts, the focus remains on fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration within government communications. The next steps involve implementing the strategies discussed and monitoring their effectiveness across various departments.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any specific follow-up actions from this workshop, but the momentum generated suggests a commitment to ongoing improvement in government communication strategies.
