The Honda City has long been a favorite in the Indian automotive market, known for its reliability and style. As the current generation of the Honda City was introduced globally in 2020, the upcoming 2027 Honda City facelift aims to keep the model fresh and competitive until the next-generation version arrives in 2028.
Recently, the 2027 Honda City facelift was spotted testing in Brazil, generating excitement among enthusiasts and potential buyers. This facelift is anticipated to launch in India before Diwali 2026, a strategic timing that aligns with the festive season when many consumers are looking to purchase new vehicles.
Key updates for the facelift include a revised grille, new bumpers, and updated headlamps, which are expected to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the vehicle. Inside, the facelift will feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), bringing the model in line with modern technological expectations.
Despite these updates, the engine lineup will remain the same, featuring a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine that produces around 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Mileage figures are expected to remain similar to the current model, with the petrol manual variant delivering around 17–18 kmpl.
Pricing for the facelift is expected to see a slight increase compared to the current model, starting around ₹12 lakh for the standard variant. The hybrid variant is anticipated to be priced between ₹18–20 lakh, making it a more premium option for eco-conscious consumers.
Additionally, the updated model will comply with E20 fuel compatibility and BS6 emission norms, reflecting Honda’s commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance.
While the Brazilian version is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2026, details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact launch date in India and specific feature additions. Observers are keen to see how the facelift will compete against rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
As the launch date approaches, anticipation continues to build around the 2027 Honda City facelift, with many eager to see how Honda will enhance this beloved model for the future.
